Sorry, didn't realize I neglected the recipe!
Ultra simple and easy French Toast
Brioche, Challa or good Greek Bread, several days old is best, cut about 3/4" thick
    Three Eggs beaten
About one cup whole milk or milk and 1/2&1/2 combo
    A pinch of salt
    1 Tbs melted butter
    Beat all together

Preheat griddle with a low flame till the water dances when tested

    Butter griddle

Dip the bread slices, one at a time, both sides, into the egg mixture and place upon the griddle

Allow to get nice and brown, a nice little crispness will form and flip

Some folks like maply syrup on this, others butter and there are the purists like me who just take it plain.

The real key to this recipe is ingredients. As simple as it is, the better the ingredients, the better the end result. Try to use unsalted fresh butter, good milk and fresh eggs, naturally, organic is a lot better. The only thing stale in this recipe is the bread but even the bread should be a nice bakery or "artisan" bread...old croissants work well too.

    Delicious Ha!

Ya know, I like to take this recipe and bulk it up for a super yummy lunch!

Go a little thinner on the bread, add some turkey and/or ham, cheese, dip the whole sandwich in the egg mixture and fry. MMMMMMMmmmmm... Monte Cristo!

    Ha,

We made a similar "Rachel Ray" french toast recipe. We covered it with a fruit sauce made of strawberries, blue berries, bananas and some Grand Marnier.... We let this sauce sit overnight before making the french toast the next day... to quote Rachel Ray.... YUMMIE!!....
